Tyndall Air Force Base, located 12 miles east of Panama City in Bay County, is home to the 325th Fighter Wing and serves as the primary training base for F-22 Raptor pilots. After sustaining significant damage from Hurricane Michael in 2018, Tyndall underwent one of the most ambitious military base reconstruction programs in U.S. history — rebuilding as a 'base of the future' with cutting-edge smart-base technology, energy resilience systems, and significantly expanded facilities. The $5 billion rebuild has made Tyndall one of the most modern installations in the Air Force.
